Fitbit detects elevation change by change in barometric pressure.
Fitbit charge 2 wont count floors.

Hi stellabella43 i am glad that the floor counting functionality is now restored following a successful restart of your fitbit charge.
I had this problem too.
Clip your charge 2 to the charging cable and make sure the cable is plugged into a usb port on your computer.
I tried everything suggested by this community but the problem solved itself when i accidentally let the battery run completely flat.
If your stairs are exactly 10 feet or a bit under it might not always detect it exactly.
So i bought the new fitbit charge 2.

You could try raising your arm over your head at the top of stairs to make it look like another foot or so.
Please help trouble shoot.

I recharged and restarted my charge 2 and it started counting floors again.

Occasionally it will give me 1 or 2 but nothing has worked from other posts i ve read.
It is important to know however that floors will only get counted if the change in elevation is at least 10 feet and the ascent is uninterrupted.
To count as a floor it must be at least ten feet elevation change.

Three days ago it was intermittent and today it won t count them at all.
For some reasone it wont count how many floors i ve climbed.
