Faux Plank Floor Using One Sheet Of Thin Plywood

Using a beautiful wood grain 4x8 plywood tongue and groove sheets for my floor but would like to make it look like its in plank form without having to cut wood.

Plywood sheets are 4 8 which is 32 square feet. Typically you can rent a sander and sand the floor before drawing all these lines however i am far too broke to even rent a sander then buy the paper. If you want it on concrete floors build a sub floor fist. At less than 18 per sheet my price per square foot came in at about 50 cents which is complete insanity.

Although you want the finished floor to resemble wood grain leaving the plywood grain exposed will belie the painted effect you create because the grain of some sheets runs perpendicular to the the painted grain. Plank flooring can bring a lot of charm into a room but the cost can be prohibitive. Which meant we needed about 25 sheets of plywood. And so i decided i d take my handheld sander with the 60 grit sandpaper i had left over and just sit on the floor and painstakingly go up and down each faux plank avoiding the sharpie lines.
